McKeown In Team Of The Week (9/5/17)

McKeown In Team Of The Week (9/5/17)

Grimsby Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by goalkeeper James McKeown in the one all draw with Plymouth Argyle at the weekend at Blundell Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why McKeown was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'McKeown was in inspired form on the final day of the Sky Bet League Two season, which came at a cost to league-leading Plymouth Argyle. The Grimsby goalie produced a string of fine saves to deny the Pilgrims, which saw them beaten to first place by Portsmouth.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to McKeown for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point.

Full Team:

James McKeown (Grimsby Town), Joe Bennett (Cardiff City), Rory McArdle (Bradford City), Michael Morrison (Birmingham City), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United), Tarique Fosu (Colchester United), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich City), Kal Naismith (Portsmouth), Steve Morison (Millwall), Chris Dagnall (Crewe Alexandra), Britt Assombalonga (Nottingham Forest).

Manager - Mike Flynn (Newport County).
