Who Is Alex Dyer

Released by Northampton Town in May Alex is a skilful central midfield playmaker, a passing prince no less who has just finished a trial at Kettering Town. Alex played for the Poppeys last week on the 0-1 defeat against his former club and apparently only gave the ball away once in the half he played. Player-manager Lee Harper had wanted to offer him a deal but with hard times now upon the Poppies budgetary constraints would not quite stretch.

Alex plays at Trinity tonight and could be a very nice addition to the squad. He has two sweet feet and with a guardian next to him could certainly kick on. Alex is only 20 and came up through the Cobblers youth system - a set up better than it sounds. He debuted in the relegation season and having earned an 18 month extension in Feb 09 was only given fleeting opportunities. He only started 4 games last season and came on as a sub in 16 grabbing a goal apiece against Notts County and Bradford.
